Here's a quick tutorial on how to browse and install Adobe Fonts directly inside of Adobe Photoshop.

This fantastic feature is easy to overlook and not the most intuitive menu to find, but it's a handy time saver that's worth a look.

You'll be able to browse and preview over 25,000 fonts right inside Adobe Photoshop's Properties Panel. Not only that but you can install Adobe Fonts with a single click of a button. Otherwise, you'd need to go to Fonts.Adobe.com, browse through to find a font you want, and then choose whether you want to add a full font family or individual font weights.

First add text to a Photoshop file

In order to try out the Font Browser feature, you'll need to add some text to your project file.

Open a new file.

Click on the Horizontal Type tool from the toolbar on the left side of the interface (or click on the keyboard shortcut "T" on your keyboard).

Add some text inside your new text layer.

Here's how the Font Browser works

1. Click on Properties Panel in Adobe Photoshop.

Open the Properties Panel in Adobe Photoshop.

If you don't see the Properties Panel, click on Window | Properties in the top menu.

The panel will insert itself into the right sidebar, and the icon will look like this:

Next, click into the font dropdown menu under the Character section.

2. Click on font dropdown in Adobe Photoshop.

Click on More fonts

When the font browser window opens, click on More fonts in the top left corner.

Use the Filter icons to narrow down your search

You'll initially notice that there are multiple icons in the top row of the Font Browser window.

One of these icons is filter in Variable Fonts, help give you control over parameters such as weight, width, and line spacing. If you click that icon, you'll notice your available options change to only fonts that allow you to twizzle down to view more font weight options, etc.

These will help you narrow down your search and speed up your workflow.

Also make note of the Clear All button, which will remove any filters you've put on your search, so you can essentially start over.

4. Click on the Filter icons to narrow down your search in Adobe Photoshop.

Hover to Preview... Click to Install

Hover over a font to preview how it will look in your project right on the canvas.

You an also twizzle down any fonts with arrows in order to choose a specific font weight, such as bold, for that font.

When you're ready to choose and install a font you like, simply click on the font name in the Font Browser window and it will automatically install it.

5. Hover over a font to preview it on your canvas in Adobe Photoshop.
